SCHENECTADY – Lorna Jean Fiore, 79, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at Ellis Hospital, surrounded by her children, after a long illness. She was born in New London, CT and was the daughter of the late Earl and Margaret (McMahon) Patnaude. Lorna Jean was a waitress for many years in several area restaurants before she retired. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Fiore in 2000, her sister Connie Clough, her brother, Robert Gaudette and her former husband, William T. Smith, Jr. Lorna Jean is the cherished mother of Billie Jean (Michael) DeLacey of Schenectady, Michael (Barbara) Smith of Brunswick and Daniel (Mary Pat) Smith of Londonderry, NH. She is the sister of Eugene Patnaude of Schenectady. She is the cherished grandmother of Michael DeLacey, Jr. of Schenectady and Daniel (Melissa) DeLacey of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, David (Amanda) Smith of Boston, MA, Matthew and Heather Hacker of Schenectady, Jay, Mark and Kayla Smith of Methuen, MA and Keira and Alicia Fitzmaurice of Londonderry, NH. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Justin and Haley Hacker and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Lorna Jean Fiore.
