Lorraine Scarlett DeVoe Demarest, 70, past away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 7, 2011, after a short brave battle with leukemia. Her third battle with cancer. She was a LPN for almost 50 years, touching the lives and praying for the souls of many. She retired from Saint Joseph's Provincial House in 2006. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Veronica (Rostkowski) DeVoe and Jesse O. DeVoe.
She is the beloved wife of Thomas E. Demarest of Schenectady, New York; devoted mother of Aimee Demarest of Rotterdam, NY and Scott T. Demarest of Jonesville New York ( I will ask if its Jonesville); loving grandmother to Damara Farone and Duke and Tessa Demarest; adoring sister to Lynnette M. Masterpolo of Rotterdam, NY and special aunt to Rachael Ward of NY, NY. She also left her best friends Ronald and Christa Olszewski of Cosayuna, NY and many other relatives who loved her.
Her wishes were met and the family had a private Catholic ceremony.
Donations may be made in her name to the Schenectady animal shelter, the American cancer society, Hospice of Schenectady or to your favorite charity.
