Lorraine J. Platt

COLONIE – Lorraine J. Platt, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Lorraine was born on June 12, 1926 in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Sobieski) Wnuk. She was the wife of the late Gustave A. Platt. She was also predeceased by her sister, Frances Szatkowski and her niece, Carol Szatkowski.
Lorraine worked for General Electric in Schenectady as a payroll clerk for several years. She enjoyed and taught ceramics, also enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, cooking and loved cardinals.
Lorraine is survived by her grandson, Andrew Weloth; many loving nieces and nephews, especially Catherine Szatkowski, Kim Camp, George Sautter and Marc Platt; dear friends, Elsa Leuchten, Gloria Nadeau and Alan Weloth and several cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will precede the service from 12 to 1 p.m. Interment Memory's Garden in Colonie.
