Lorraine K. Mont, 77, wife of Richard A. Mont of Rexford, left this earthly plane, Friday, September 15th, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.
Born January 31st, 1946, in Little Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Martha L. and Charles F. Antalek.
Lorraine attended Fort Plain High School, and graduated from Ellis Nursing School. She then worked for Ellis Hospital for 46 years, as a loving and dedicated nurse on both the cardiac unit and in the cardiac catheterization lab. She was beloved by patients and hospital staff. She had a sharp mind and wit, and was always expanding her knowledge by reading avidly, doing the crossword puzzles and jumbles in pen, and attending UCALL classes on a variety of subjects at Union College. Lorraine was a compassionate nurturer, whose love for growing things overflowed into her family, friends, pets, houseplants, vegetable and beautiful flower gardens,and feeding her birds. Anyone who knew Lorraine, had a felt experience of her kind, loving, and generous spirit.
She is survived by husband, Richard of Rexford, NY; daughter, Rachelle and her husband Bryan Booth of Saratoga Springs, NY; 5 grandchildren, Ella Trahan, Makayla and Jesse Booth of Saratoga Springs, and Joshua and Nate Trahan of Carmel Hamlet. She is also survived by 3 siblings, Charles of Utica, Barbara of Little Falls, and Jaqueline of Sarasota, FL.
Friends may call, Wednesday 9/27, 1:00-3:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A celebration of Life will follow from 3:00-4:00 PM.
