Lorraine F. Redden

Troy- Lorraine F. Redden, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Lucien and Frances Turmel. Lorraine is reunited in heaven with her husband of 67 years, William C. Redden Sr. 

Lorraine was educated in the Albany School District before starting her working life. After raising her four children she returned to work as a Chef at the Albany Institute of History and Art. Lorraine enjoyed going to the casino and going to the movies. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her one great-great grandchild.

Lorraine is survived by her children William Redden Jr. (Linda), daughters, Linda Tymchyn (Harry), and Christine Van Baaren (Michael). Lorraine is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She will also be missed by her brother Ted Turmel. In addition to her husband, Lorraine is predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Bovia (Kevin), her granddaughter Jaime, and her siblings Cecilia Stager, Joseph Turmel, and Marion Smith.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9:30am-11am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service at the funeral home will begin at 11am with interment following at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
