Lorraine Louise Riggins

Lorraine L. Riggins (Byrnes), 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024.

Born in Niskayuna, NY, she was the daughter of the late Stephen & Helen Byrnes.

Lorraine practiced medicine as a CNA, and LPN, before returning to school to attain a Bachelor's of Business Administration from SUNY Cobleskill. From there, she went on to become a Financial Advisor for American Express. She was known for her toughness and determination as much as she was known for her selfless love and acts of kindness often shown through the passion she had for cooking & baking. She loved to spread her love to family, friends, and her community through the many cakes, candies, cookies, and full meals.

Lorraine is predeceased by; her husband Samuel Riggins, and son, Ross Riggins.

She is survived by her son Judson (Apryl), and siblings: Marie Barnes (Bill), Christine Marotta (Ron), Stephen Byrnes (Kathy), Mark Byrnes (Judy). She is also survived by her step kids, Sidra, and Sam (Andrea), as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Lorraine will forever hold a place in the hearts of her family and friends

Due to inclement of weather Calling Hours will be held Sunday February 4th, 2024 at Sharon Springs Reformed Church, 6858 NY State Rt 10, Sharon Springs, NY from 12pm to 1pm, her Service and a reception will be held immediately follow calling.
