COLONIE – Louis E. Bindrim, father of Harriet Marr of Niskayuna, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2005 at The Inn at St. Peter's Hospice. He was 95.
Louis was born on April 3, 1910 in Richmond Hill, LI, NY to the late Edward and Amelia Bindrim.
Louis was a printer for New York State for many years until his retirement in 1972. He was an avid chess player and a musician with the Yankee Doodle Band, the Colonie Town Band, the Albany and Schenectady Orchestra and the Florida Boca Raton Gold Coast Band. He was also a member of the Watervliet Elks.
In addition to his daughter, Louis is survived by his grandchildren, David (Michele) Marr, Debra (Glen) Gordon, Donald Marr and Douglas Marr and his great grandsons, David, Michael, James and Thomas Marr.
Louis was predeceased by his wife, Connie Bindrim, a brother, Arthur Bindrim and his son-in-law, Herb Marr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Memory's Garden in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
