Louis E. Euvrard, Jr., 86, of Latham died January 3, 2021 after a long illness. Born June 28, 1934 in Tuxedo, N.Y., Lou was the child of Louis E. and Florence Young Euvrard.
After receiving his B.A. from Ithaca College and His M.A. from NYU, Lou taught Physical Education with the Brittonkill Central School District. An avid Civil War buff, he visited most of the War's Historical sites and Battlefields. Lou was an active member of the former Community United Methodist Church, Newtonville United Methodist Church, Albany Curling club,Aums Food Pantry, Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #85 and several square dancing clubs and golf leagues.
Lou is survived by his wife, Dorothy White Euvrard; his children, Gretchen (John) Poole and Scott (Joan) Euvrard; step children Pam (Lance) Booker and Judy (Riley) Roberts; grandchildren, Joshua Kinney, Patrick Kinney, Cameron Euvrard, Taylor Euvrard, Derek White, Kendra Roberts Watson and Kali Roberts; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Saturday January 9, 2021 from 10:30 am to 11:30am with a memorial service to immediately follow 11:30 am. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
