Albany, NY – Louis J. Carciobolo, Sr., 75, passed away Saturday November 14, 2009.
Louis was born in Albany the son of the late Vincent and Angeline Carciobolo and was a lifelong resident. He proudly served in the US Army from 1957-59 as his company photographer. Lou was an award winning photographer, who owned and operated Louis Studio Photographers along with his wife Terry for over forty years. Louis was bigger than life itself. His work as a wedding photographer was legendary, touching countless couples and families over the years. Thanks to him there are thousands of pictures in albums, on walls and treasured keepsakes handed down from generation to generation. He was member of Professional Photographers Society of NY, Rotterdam Elks, Italian American Community Center and was a valued and beloved employee of New Comer Cannon Funeral Home. As a young man, Louis and his buddies performed area events during the fifties as the Harmonicats. He spent time restoring pre 1970 Mustangs. Above all Louis was a devoted family man, who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whether it was a trip to the store or big family gathering.
He is survived by his wife and eternal friend Theresa M. Carciobolo, children: Louis J. Carciobolo, Jr., Margaret Ann Carciobolo (James P. Gavin) and Vincent J. Carciobolo, grandchildren: Nicole (Jim) Pardi, Jessica and Sarah Carciobolo and Quinten, Dylan, Alivia and Ethan Gavin, great-grandchildren: Giavanna and Colton Pardi, sisters: Concetta M. Boschwitz and Mary C. DeVoe, one aunt and two uncles and many cousins.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 4:00 to 8:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 8:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.).
