Louis J. Vita

Louis J. Vita, 90, peacefully entered into eternal life at his home on Tuesday, Apr 09, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born on Nov 22, 1922 in Glens Falls, NY to the late Joseph and Nicolina (Cioppa) Vita. He was a WWII, United States Army Veteran and proudly served his country from 1943 to 1946 and was bestowed the Bronze Star. He retired in 1985 from the NYS Health Department.

He is the beloved husband of over 47 years, Ellen (Geer) Vita; devoted father of Robert and Richard; grandfather of Robert Jr., Michelle and Danielle; brother of Joseph and Rosemary Nevins. He is also survived by several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in Louis's memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Albany County Hospice for all of their care and compassion given to Louis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Apr 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Christ Our Light, 1 Maria Drive Loudonville, NY. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the church. Entombment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
