Louis J. Musella

Albany- Louis J. Musella, 92, died August 10, 2017 after a short illness. Louis was born in Albany, NY on October 14, 1924 to the late John and Maria (Rovelli) Musella. He was the baby of six siblings. Louis served proudly in the United States Army in World War II. He received the Purple Heart for his Heroism. He also received ribbons for the African/Middle Eastern Theater Campaign with two service stars, Rifle Marksmanship and Good Conduct. He was a graduate from the Troy Conservatory of Music and the Schenectady School of Barbering. He retired from Barbering after 30 years. His main passion in life was music, he loved music to the fullest extent. Louis volunteered his time for many years entertaining the Vets. His favorite sport was boxing. He will be missed very much by his family and friends.
Louis was predeceased by two sisters: Antoinette (Musella) Barrett and Phylis Musella; three brothers: Tony, Sidney and George Musella; two nephews: Anthony Musella and Michael Farina. Louis is survived by several nephews and nieces, several great nieces and great nephews and three great-great nephews.
Louis' family would like to express their gratitude to the VA Hospital and especially the Doctors, Nurses and staff on Heros Way 9th Floor, B Wing. "You are all magical with the patience of Saints," "You are the best of the best."
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 17 at 10:30 am at Gerald B.H.Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. There will be no calling hours.
