Louis Peterson
August 17, 1930 — February 7, 2012
GUILDERLAND – Louis "Pete" Peterson, Jr., 81 passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at St. Peter's Nursing and Rehabilitation after a long illness. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Louis, Sr. and Jennie (Stahl) Peterson.
Pete worked for Detroit Supply in Albany for many years. He raced stock cars at Pine Bowl Speedway, Rhinebeck Fairgrounds, Empire Raceway and many other tracks in the area. Pete was an avid bowler and loved camping.
Along with his parents, Pete was predeceased by his wife, Elsie;brother, Robert and daughter-in-law, Pam.
He is survived by his loving partner, Esther Persico; children Dwight (Kathleen), Craig, Gary, Michael, and Scott; grandchildren Jamie, Haley, Tyler, Melissa, Cory, Jason, Kayla, John Anthony; eight great-grandchildren; sisters Helen and Myrtle; dear friends John and Debbie, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Memorial calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
