COLONIE-Louis P. Schardt Jr., 82, of Colonie, passed away on Sunday February 19, 2006 at St. Peters Hospital. He was born in East Syracuse and was the son of the late Louis and Rose Nauer Schardt Sr.
Louis was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He worked as an aviation maintenance supervisor with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for twenty years, retiring in 1988. He was predeceased in 2002 by his wife, Patricia E. Schardt.
He is the beloved father of Patricia L. Marsh of Albany, Leslee Danz of Altamont, David L. Schardt and his wife Faye of Nashville, TN., Phyllis Schardt of Raleigh, NC and Paul A. Schardt and his wife Debra of Esperance. He is the brother of Irene Skidmore of Chittenango, NY. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 8:30 at NewComer-Cannon family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
