VOORHEESVILLE- Louis T. Leon, 64, of Voorheesville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 20, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Puerto Rico and is the beloved son of Antonio Leon of Newburgh and the late Thomas Leon. He was a graduate of Newburgh High School. Lou was a US Army veteran having served from 1961 through 1965. He was a groundskeeper at Wallkill School District for many years. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and gardening. Lou was a member of the Voorheesville Fly fishing Assoc and a communicant of St. Matthews Church.
He is the husband of Dawna Leon. He is the father of Louis (Sue) Leon Jr., Albert Leon, Tina Leon and Brandy Leon. He is the adopted father of Andrew Leon and stepfather of Jon Dolen. Brother of Albert (Judy) Leon, Mary (Marc) Fowler, Sonia (James) Rahm and Jolanda Leon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 9:00 at St. Matthews Church, Voorheesville. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Newburgh.
