Loudonville- Louis W. Hoffman of Loudonville, NY, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, November 21, 2014.
Louis was born in Queens, NY to the late Louis M. and Margaret M. Hoffman on December 24th, 1928. In 1946 Louis enlisted in the United States Army. He served as a guard patrolman in Korea, later serving in Tokyo, Japan. After serving his country Louis came home to work at Continental Insurance Co., in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Albany, and the "Great City of Glens Falls!" He retired from the State Insurance Fund as a legal investigator in 1984. Once retiring, the Shaker Road- Loudonville Fire Dept. took up much of his time. All told Louis was a member of the Fire Dept. for 50 years, where he served many different posts including; Board of Directors, Treasurer, Fire Police Captain, Operations: Car #8 for the town emergency service of Colonie.
Louis will be remembered by his loving wife of 61 years, Lorraine, his son, Michael J., his grandsons; Michael D., and William M., his great-grandchildren; Heath, Cyrus, and a host of friends and family.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY, on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 4-6pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ our Light Church, 1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2014 at 9:00am, with a burial to follow at Saratoga National Cemetery.
