Louise Patricia Farina, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 8th surrounded by her family. Louise was born on September 15, 1931 in Schenectady, NY to parents, Luigi and Mary Riccio. Louise graduated from St. Joseph's Academy working for many years at the Wallace Company in Downtown Schenectady.
Louise's greatest passion was her family and her love for her husband, Raymond Farina. Louise was a member of the Red Hat Ladies and enjoyed the many excursions and luncheons with her group as they became close friends. She was a devout Catholic worshipping each Sunday at Mt. Carmel Church.
Louise is survived by her husband of 67 years, Raymond Farina. She was the loving mother of her three children, Raymond (Joann) Farina, Susan Chase and Lisa (Gary) Kendall. She was the cherished grandmother of Ryan (Loren) Chase, Michelle (Sean) Smith, Rachel Farina, and Jason Kendall and her adored great-grandchild Emma Louise Smith who is named in honor of Louise. She is also survived by her brother, Alfred Riccio and sister-in-law's Doris Clancy, and Joann Farina and 7 nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Friday, March 24th followed by private burial at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Glenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Ave., FL 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to a charity of your choosing.
