SCHENECTADY – Louise M. Rossetti, 101, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, December 19, 2011. Born in Piansano, Italy she was the daughter of the late Felidio and Amalia Macchione. Louise was endearingly known as the "Cookie Lady". She was the proprietor of the Old Country Baking Company in Schenectady for forty-five years. Louise ran her business until she was ninety-five years old and made her own deliveries until the age of ninety-two. She was a member of the Abruzzese Society since 1956. Louise's family was her life and she loved spending time with them. She was the beloved wife of the late Cassio M. Rossetti. She is the devoted mother of Marietta (Buddy Palladino), Ginny (Richard) Martin and Barbara (Frank) Wyllie. She is the cherished grandmother of Rosanne Raneri, George (Erika) Raneri, Christine Raneri, Michael (Kristen) Martin, Liz (Alan) Smith, Miriam Wyllie and Stephanie Wyllie. Also surviving are four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Louise was predeceased by her brothers, Phillip and Lucien Macchione.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schenectady.
