COHOES_Peter G. Pelton, 73, passed away on October 30, 2015 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center.
He was born on January 22, 1942 son of the late S. Oswald and Greeta (Sutherland) Pelton.
Peter graduated from Albany High School Class of 1959 and from Boston University in 1964 with a BS in Aero Technology. Peter was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in active duty from 1964 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. He retired as Lt. Col after 27 years of service. He flew 800 combat sorties and completed 180 combat missions. Peter was granted 14 patents during his career.
Peter is survived by Susan Barbone; his children, John E. and his wife Mary Pelton and Lori Jean Pelton-Biehle and her husband James Biehle, 2 grandchildren, Julia and Sam; brother Gary Pelton and a niece, Erica Pelton.
A memorial service for Peter will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 10:00am at New Comer Funeral Home. Interment with full military honors will be held following services at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
The family would like to offer heartfelt gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown to Peter and his family during his time at the Stratton VA Medical Center.
