Luciano Antonio Tizzone

September 18, 1936 — March 17, 2022

Colonie - Luciano Antonino Tizzone, 85, passed away on March 17, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was born on September 18, 1936 in Colonie, NY to the late Joseph and Angela (Grasso) Tizzone.

Luciano attended Colonie Central High where he excelled in Football, Basketball and Baseball. A Sergeant in the Army National Guard and former racecar driver and NYS Champion, he loved his Corvettes! A mason by trade, he was the top Masonry Superintendent for Beltrone Construction and mentored hundreds of local masons a proud, long standing member of Local 2, Bricklayers and Allied Craft workers. He was an incredibly gifted craftsman in brick, stone, stucco, stained glass, tile, and gunite pools. Former co-owner of Gourmet Italia Importing, he loved great food and desserts, wine making and all things Italian. President of Our Lady of Mercy Little League and Coach of the Angels, he led them to the championship. A diehard New York Giants fan, he travelled the country to attend home and away games with his dear friend Carl Keegan. Luciano was an avid deer and turkey hunter, and loved deep-sea fishing. He had vision and a gift for building, fixing, creating and improving anything and everything. He most often was found, in his workshop involved in his latest project, earning him the title of Papa Fixit from his grandchildren.
Above all, he was known for, being a loving, devoted, dedicated Father, Grandfather, Husband, Son, Brother and Uncle. There was no sacrifice too great, and no limit to what he would do for his family.

Luciano is survived by his loving Children: Angela (David) Preisman, Mary (Michael Winkelhake) Tizzone, Joseph (Suzanne) Tizzone. Adoring Grandchildren: Tyler Lawrence, Victoria Preisman, Juliana Preisman, Caitlin Tizzone, his former spouse and children's mother J. Sandra Tizzone, brother-in-law Stephen Christopher, and many precious nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Predeceased by his parents, his sisters Mary (Paul) LaFalce and Donna Christopher, and his granddaughter Isabella Preisman.

Our most heartfelt gratitude to our friends, family, neighbors, caregivers, Hospice workers and the Joan Nicole Prince Home. Thank you for all you have done to support us.
