Colonie- Lucille Madeline Thomas, 88, of Colonie, New York went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2021 at Daughters of Sarah Assisted Living Center in Albany, New York. Lucille was born on May 27, 1933 in Augusta, Maine, to her parents Frederick Thibeault and Beatrice (Pare) Thibeault.
After High School graduation, Lucille moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for the Research and Development Department of the Navy. In Washington, she met the love of her life Jerome Thomas. Jerome was in the U.S. Army. They were married in Washington D.C. on February 16, 1956 in the Cathedral of St. Matthew The Apostle.
After a number of moves they settled in Albany, New York in 1960 to raise their family.
Lucille was a devoted wife to her husband and a loving mother to her six children She was happiest when surrounded by family. She raised her children to understand life was a gift to never be wasted but embraced finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Lucille's love for her family, sense of humor, and generous spirit will always be remembered by her family & friends. Lucille was a devoted & faithful member of her church.
Lucille was predeceased by her parents, her sister Anita (Thibeault) Picard, and her grandson, Cormac Fitzpatrick Thomas.
She is survived by her six children: Daniel J. Thomas (Sue) of Wilmington, De, Kathleen A. Thomas of North Grafton, MA, David L. Thomas (Patricia) of Avon, CT, Therese E. Shean (William) of Guilderland, N.Y, Julie T. Byers (Albert) of Midlothian, VA, and Dr. Stephen J. Thomas (Erica) of Skaneateles, NY. She is survived by nine grandchildren: Sarah, Rebecca, Stephen, Olivia, Natalie, Samantha, Ashley, Charles and MacLane (Laney). Three great grandchildren Chloe, Hannah and Luke and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude and thanks to all those at Daughters of Sarah that cared for her.

A calling hour will be held from 8:30am-9:30am at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Albany, NY 12211 on Friday, December 17. A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 9:30am. Masks and social distancing are required while in the church.
Interment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
