COLONIE – Luther A. Relyea, 75, passed away after a long illness on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Luther was born on March 3, 1936 in Albany and was the son of the late Luther G. and Evelyn A. (Hilt) Relyea. He worked for Bear Manning for 10 years then for Albany Medical Center for 12 years and then for P & J Computers for 15 years. He enjoyed woodworking, computers, carpentry, motorcycling, walking, biking and gardening.
Luther is the husband of 55 years to Marilyn H. Relyea. He is the father of Cindy R. (Thomas) Butler of Schenectady, Mark L. Relyea of Schenectady and the late Robin L. Relyea. He is the grandfather of Gabrielle Butler, Marcus Relyea, Max Butler and Marshall Relyea. He is the brother of Ronald and Gerald Relyea, Sandra Brown, Melody Brennan, Patricia Ostrander, Zelda Payne, Brenda Hilton, Timothy Hilt and the late William "Jack" Relyea. He is also survived by a longtime friend, William Hanley and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. Interment Memory Gardens in Colonie.
