ALBANY -On February 15, 2013 an angelic anointed praise and worshipper Lynette Vice, was inducted into God's Heavenly Choir. Lynette was born in Albany, NY on July 14, 1962 to Estelle Brewer and the late John Brewer.
She was blessed with seven beautiful children. Her first born and right hand Dionne and secondly Jenee (her twin). In April of 1994, Lynette exchanged vows with Jackie Vice. Then in addition to his son, Kori, Jackie and Lynette was blessed with Joshua, Noah, Joseph and last but not least Malachi - the epitomy of God's command - "Be fruitful and multiply".
In addition to her precious children, Lynette leaves to cherish her memory her mother Estelle Brewer, two sisters Dorothy Everett (Ernie), Jacqueline Zanders (Ted), four brothers, John Brewer (Diane), Leonard Brewer, George Brewer (Tara) and the late Kevin Brewer. Lynette was also blessed with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends. A special mention is appropriate regarding her faithful friend, Rosalyn Thigpen-Smith and Lana Jackson, Kimmy Springstein, Gloria Hessell (who she called "ma"), and Marshay Small (her favorite niece) and her Godparents Marlene and Noonie Hammond.
She earned her Nursing Degree from Hudson Valley Community College and worked at various local hospitals including her last employer, Albany Medical Center Hospital, until she was no longer able to work. She was a veteran and served in the United States Army Reserves for 17 years.
Lynette accepted Jesus as her Savior and worshipped at Mt. Moriah Ministries where she has been a member for eight years and was loved deeply by her Pastors Meredith and Stephen Giles as well as the entire congregation that continuously and faithfully prayed, ministered and provided continued support.
Lynette was a gifted "songbird" and was a member of Mt. Moriah's Praise and Worship Team, an avid traveler and a lover of life and God's people. She will be greatly missed for she indeed possessed the gift of presence.
Calling hours will be held at the Mt. Moriah Ministries, Route 9W, Glenmont, NY on Thursday at 10am to 12pm followed by Funeral Services beginning at 12 noon with Pastors Steven and Meredith Giles leading the services. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie.
In keeping with Lynette's wishes, memorial contributions are suggested to her Children's education in care of the family.
