ALBANY – M. Edith Vincent, 86, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Good Samaritan Lutheran Health Care Center in Delmar.
Edith was born on April 28, 1926 in Plattsburgh, NY and was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Margaret E. (Herrick) Vincent. She was a graduate of Mildred Elley School. She worked as a stenographer for Williams Press and then for the NYS Thruway Authority until her retirement. She was an avid reader and enjoyed word find puzzles.
Edith is survived by her sister, Alice A. Vincent of Albany; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clarence, Roswell, Ralph and Robert Vincent; her sisters, Doris and Evelyn Vincent, Thelma Del Belso and Helen Polinsky and two nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 6 to 7 p.m.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Mooers, NY
