Mabel A. Carcia
February 18, 1924 — January 22, 2015
COLONIE – Mabel A. Carcia, 90, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Teresian House. Born in Voorheesville, she was the daughter of the late William J. Westedt, Sr. and Helen VanZandt.
Mabel worked for New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring in 1986 after 21 years of service. She enjoyed reading, traveling, music and plays. Mabel was Vice President of the Heart Social Club.
Along with her parents, Mabel was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Anthony J. Carcia, Sr.; brother William J. Westedt, Jr.;sister-in-law Rose Westedt, and step-father Reginald Thomas.
She will be missed by her children, Helen (Peter) Schnitzer, Mabel Maguire McGraw, Anthony (Sharan) Carcia, Vincent (Roseann) Carcia, Sarah Amesse, James (Lin Jie) Carcia, Thomas Carcia, John (Lori) Carcia, David (Lisa) Carcia, and Sarah Webb; fifteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several cousins, many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 S. Pearl St., Albany, NY 12202 or Regional Food Bank of NENY, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110 in Mabel's name.
