Colonie- Madalen Mehleisen Mitchell passed away February 24, 2018 at the age of 85, after a brief illness. She loved to knit and crochet. Also have an occasional glass of wine. She was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She also loved to travel and camp with family and friends at Queens Village Campground in Warrensburg, NY. She was a member of the West Albany Fire Department Station 2 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William Mitchell. She is also survived by her 3 beloved children: James (Thomi) Mitchell, Marion (Timothy) McAllister and Debra (Mark) McAllister. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren: Nicole (Matt) Darius, Joshua, Patrick (Jacqlene), Daniel, Christopher (Danielle) and Samantha McAllister, Meghan and James "JT" Mitchell and 2 great grandchildren, Patrick Jr., and Peyton McAllister. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents William and Madaline Mehleisen and several brothers and sisters.
Viewing will be Wednesday, February 28 at New Comer Funeral Home, New Karner Road, Colonie from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 1, 10:30 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany, then to St. Agnes Cemetery Menands for interment.
