CLIFTON PARK – Madeline T. "Peachy" Germano, 79, peacefully entered into rest on Saturday, June 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angeline Gross. Madeline graduated as Salutatorian two years early from Troy High School with a scholarship to Vassar College. She married her one true love, Anthony, on April 12, 1959. Madeline worked as the assistant to the vice-president at Pioneer Savings Bank before working side by side with her husband at DeJoseph's Hair Salon. They were then called together into full time ministry and founded Victorious Life Christian Church in Troy.
Madeline was the beloved wife of the late Anthony G. Germano. She is the devoted mother of Kathryn (Garry) Henzel, Louis (Anita) Germano, James Germano, Madeline (Richard) Bonomo, and Angelina (Christopher) Brignola. She is the cherished "Mopper" to her grandchildren: Antonia (Dave), Micah, Ashley, Joey, Elizabeth, Richard, Nicholas, William, Christian, Dominic and Giovanna. Madeline is the great-grandmother of J.D. Giordano who she affectionately called "Neh Neh". Also surviving is her sister, Rose (Louis) Germano as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband, Madeline was predeceased by her siblings, Frank Gross, Theresa Bove and Lucy Fernandez.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
