Madlyn E. Reid

Albany - Madlyn E. Reid , 73, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was the daughter of the late John and Rose Cappello.

Madlyn was a very social soul. She enjoyed Golfing, attending various Broadway and off Broadway shows, traveling the world, and spending time with her family and friends.

She will be forever missed by her children, Laura Meeson, and David Merwitz, brothers, John (Jean), and James Cappello, grand children, Tyler Merwitz, Christopher Merwitz, Lance Meeson, and Garrett Meeson, along with other loved family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Madlyn is predeceased by her brother, Richard Cappello, and her loved dog, Henry.

A calling hour will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00pm to 6:00 pm. The celebration of life service will be held following the calling hour at 6:00 pm. A tree will be planted in Madlyn's memory by her children at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Madlyn's name to the Interfaith Partnership for the Homeless at: 176 Sheridan Ave, Albany, 12210 or to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at: 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY, 12204.
