It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Mansa Carshaun Wilkerson Sr., affectionately known as "Doc Bom Bey," who departed this life on January 16, 2025, at the age of 50.
Born on February 8, 1974, Mansa ("Bey") was a man of extraordinary talent, boundless creativity, and an unyielding spirit. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, whose presence left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.
Bey was the cherished son of Brenda C. Wilkerson, who survives him, and the late Raymond Fredericks. He shared an unbreakable bond with his twin brother, Mali B. Wilkerson (aka “Nu Borne”), and sister-in-law, Tammy Wilkerson (“Sissy”), who together stood by him through life’s greatest joys and challenges. He is also survived by his devoted siblings: David Chavis, Christopher Wynn, and Ebony Fredericks.
Mansa’s greatest pride and joy were his children, who carry forward his legacy: La’Donn Cashaun Wilkerson, X.O. Antonio Delgado, Lord James Wilkerson, Cecil Kashaun Toland, Saviour Mali Wilkerson, and Mansa Carshaun Wilkerson Jr.. He also leaves behind his beloved daughters: O. Mo-nei Delgado and Myangel Muhye Wilkerson. Bey is reunited in eternal peace with his son, Jaquez Imaji Carden, whom he cherished deeply.
A Legacy of Creativity and Vision Bey was a visionary in every sense of the word.
As a master lyricist, scriptwriter, and commercial content creator, he founded Rytas Blok, where his prolific penmanship brought ideas to life with unmatched eloquence. His immense body of work served as a catalyst for his twin brother, Nu, to pursue a career in video production. Together, they built NuClear ViZion LLC, where Mansa served as Chief Writer and Chief Operating Officer, contributing his unparalleled storytelling talents to create compelling, visionary content. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Mansa was also a passionate dog enthusiast. His love for blue nose bullies led him to co-found Nasty North Kennels with Nu. Among their prized companions was Ven Deisel, a two-time purple ribbon champion who embodied Mansa’s commitment to excellence and dedication.
A Champion for His Community
Bey’s heart was as big as his talents. He dedicated himself to empowering others through 2020 Nation, the nonprofit organization he founded to teach principles of self-preservation, unity, and healthy living. Through community gardening and promoting plant-based diets, Bey cultivated not only food but hope, inspiring others to build stronger, more self-sufficient communities.
An Unbreakable Spirit
Mansa’s life was a testament to resilience and faith. Battling Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) with courage and grace, he defied medical odds, surpassing the life expectancy of 21–40 years. His perseverance and unwavering belief in overcoming challenges became a beacon of hope for others facing similar battles.

Mansa Carshaun Wilkerson Sr. was a man of immeasurable talent, unshakable faith, and boundless love for his family and community. His light will continue to shine through the lives he touched and the legacy he leaves behind.
