Marcel K. Desautels

Green Island- Marcel K. Desautels, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Marcel and Yvonne Desautels. Marcel was the devoted husband to Robin L. Desautels. They were married 31 years. 

After graduating from High School, Marcel enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served until his honorable discharge.

Marcel worked as a Lieutenant al Albany County Sheriff's Department until his retirement.

Marcel enjoyed spending time with his entire family. He was an avid Yankees fan just like his mom. He enjoyed spending his free time fixing computers.

Marcel had a huge heart and helped everyone he could in anyway he was able. He will be deeply missed and always loved by all those who knew him. 

In addition to his wife, Marcel is survived by his children, Kenneth (Susan) Desautels, Kevin (Rose) Desautels, Kimberly Desautels, and Daniel Desautels; sister, Eleanor (the late James) Quell; 6 grandchildren; his beloved dog, Joe; loving niece; Diane (Dale) Whitman; nephews, Sean Quell and Kyle Whitman; and many friends. 

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189 on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 2pm to 5pm.
