Marcella S. Parker

WATERVLIET – Marcella Sandra Parker entered into rest on Thursday, August 28, 2014 after a long illness, surrounded by her family and friends. Marcella was 71 years old.

Born in Troy on September 30, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Grace (Hoyt) Kavanaugh. Marcella was raised and educated in Lansingburgh and graduated from Lansingburgh High School. She was employed by Picotte for many years. Marcella also enjoyed raising her sons and was active in their school sports.

Marcella was the beloved wife of Donald George Parker; devoted mother to Donald Parker, Jr. of Watervliet, Richard Parker of Watervliet and William Riley of Voorheesville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eddy DayBreak, Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center, 421 Columbia Street, Cohoes, NY 12047 (Please notate for Activities in the memo) in Marcella's name.
