Marcia N. Farrington, 92, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY.

She was born on April 14, 1925 in Albany, NY and Marcia graduated Albany High School in 1943.

After high school, she worked for Traveler's Aid for over 10 years at the NY Central Railroad Station in Albany, NY. Then she spent a short time at GE in Schenectady. Shortly after children, Marcia worked for Mechanics & Farmers Bank for 19 years. She also attended Siena College at night for 3 years for Banking courses. Lastly, she worked for the State Civil Service for 9 years and retired in 1994.

Marcia is the daughter of Sarah J. Wark and Frederick Nast. She is the widow of Edward Chandler Farrington from Croton-On-The-Hudson. She is the beloved mother of Susan Farrington, who is deceased, Barbara Grundhauser and her husband, Edward, of New Jersey. She is survived by her two sisters, Esther Nast and Edna McGinn of Guilderland, nieces, Judi Michela of Altamont and Debbie Close of Guilderland, and nephew Richard McGinn of Saratoga Springs. Also, cousin Donna Witter and her husband, Al, of Clifton Park.

Her two oldest and closest friends in the world, Arabelle Oses and Ann Girvin, pre-deceased Marcia. Greatly appreciated are her two newest and kindest friends, Donna Foley of Schenectady, NY and Stacie Connolly of Saratoga Springs.

Special thanks to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY for their compassionate care for almost 8 years!

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, on Friday August 25, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held Saturday August 26, 2017 at 10:00 am from the funeral home, with interment following in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
