Margaret A. Valyou

LATHAM, NY – Margaret A. Valyou, 69, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 31, 2010, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. She was born in Albany and lived in Latham for over 30 years. Marge retired as a Manger for the Tupperware Company. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing bingo and flea markets. She especially enjoyed camping with her husband. Marge is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Donald E. Valyou, Sr. She is the devoted mother of Joanne (Thomas) Anderson of Averill Park, Donald E. (Cindy) Valyou, Jr. of Saratoga Springs and Margaret R. Valyou of Cary, NC. She is the loving sister of Robert (Patty) Smith, Jr. of Mechanicville. She is the cherished grandmother of Don Ewing, Jodi (Dave) Wilbert, Sabrina Rose, Josh Anderson and Heather, Amy and Samantha Valyou. Also surviving is her aunt and uncle, Ruth and Howard Harbeck , her sister-in-law, Marge Wood and a niece, Danielle Wood.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Margaret A. Valyou.
