Marguerite E. Collins of McKownville died Wednesday May 6, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a brief illness.
Born in Richmond, Indiana the daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Viola Sanford.
Mrs. Collins was a Guilderland resident for over 50 years and was an Operator for The New York Telephone Company, retiring in 1979. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Hanrahan of Guilderland, a grand-daughter Megan Hanrahan of Queens, New York, grandsons Matthew Hanrahan and his partner John Futia of Albany and Patrick Hanrahan of Queens, New York, her sister Eleanor Sanford and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband William Collins, sisters: Edith Collins, Pauline Scott, Gladys Scott and Betty Underdue, brothers: Harry II, Kenneth, Ernest and James Sanford.
Calling hours will be 11:00am to 1:00pm Tuesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.) with services to follow. Interment at Memory's Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Marguerite's name to Albany County Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
