Loudonville- Margaret M. Farrell, 81, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 12, 2007, at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in County Leitrim, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary O'Brien. Margaret had worked for the NYS O.G.S for 16 years retiring in 1990. Prior to working for the state, she had worked as a journeywoman for Argus Greenwood in Albany. Margaret was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in Loudonville and was an active member of the St. Francis de Sales Seniors. Margaret was also an avid gardener, who enjoyed tending to her yard and flowers. She is predeceased by her husband Donald P. Farrell.
Margaret is survived by her four children, Joanne Farrell of Loudonville, Gail Farrell of Loudonville, Donald J. Farrell and his wife Patricia of Delmar and Michael J. Farrell and his wife Nancy of South Orange, NJ. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Dawn Marie, Jennifer Ann, Christa Michelle, Brian Patrick and Caitlin Margaret, her great-granddaughter Madison Margalise and several brothers and sisters in Ireland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 8:15 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). We will then proceed to St. Francis de Sales Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis de Sales Seniors, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY 12211, in memory of Margaret M. Farrell.
