Margaret Hayward

Slingerlands- Margaret E. Hayward, 91, of Slingerlands, passed away on Wednesday July 13, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born June 21, 1914 and was the daughter of the late Alexander and Ida Martin.
Margaret worked for New York State for several years. Following her retirement, she enjoyed winters in Florida and summers at her camp in Vermont. Margaret's life centered around her loving family and friends. She love playing cards, reading numerous magazines and watching birds and wildlife in her backyard.
She was married on November 27, 1940 to her beloved husband Henry J. Hayward Sr, who predeceased her in 2000. She was also predeceased by her son, Henry J. Hayward Jr. and her brother Eddie Martin. Margaret is survived by two children, Sandra A. Southard and husband Bill of Rotterdam and John M. Hayward and wife Barbara of Cape Coral, FL; a daughter in law, Andrea Hayward of Troy; eight grandchildren, Deanna Ruggiero, Todd Southard, Karen O'Melia, Cory, Casey, Meagan, Randy and Kevin Hayward; two sister in laws, Alice Mather and Marge Witbeck. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Tallulah.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
