Margaret Isabel Headspeth

Margaret Isabel Wood Headspeth was born January 9, 1932 in Halifax County, Virginia to Mattie and Alonzo Wood and transitioned into eternity on June 21, 2021 at Albany Medical Center.

At an early age she relocated to Albany, NY where she met and married the late James Sonny Headspeth. She was mother to Emmett Ovid Tune, Patricia Headspeth, Portia Headspeth and Michael Todd Headspeth.

During her lifetime she was employed by Roxy Cleaners and Freihofer's Bakery. She was also employed with Sterling Winthrop Laboratories until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, watching game shows and taking care of her home. She also enjoyed family and having company.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Thelma Owens, her brothers, Riley Wood and Lindsey Wood, her two sons, Michael Todd Headspeth and Emmett Ovid Tune, and her nieces, Carolyn Wilkins and Joylette Wimbush.

She leaves to cherish her memories; daughters, Patricia Headspeth, Portia Headspeth (Ronnie Eaddy), grandchildren, Stacey Cole, Tracy Tune, Roneisha Eaddy, Jerel Eaddy, Latonia Tune-Hawkins, Azana Headspeth; great-grandchildren, Lealah Eaddy, Andrell Leppanen and Keyaira Hawkins; nieces, Linda Lewis (Rochester, NY), Lois Coleman (Albany, NY) and Patricia Bell, Rebecca Campbell, Robin Johnson and nephew Wayne Wood all of Orangeburg, S.C. and nephew, Lionel Chalmers (Renee Chalmers) of Albany, NY, special friend, Marion Sue Dorsey and Ralph Dorsey, long time friends, Callie Moore, Rosie Mott, Joyce Fountain and Aroma Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Wednesday June 30, 2021 from 9 to 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
