Margaret Jones

Guilderland- Margaret P. "Margie" Jones, 84, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Flynn. In her earlier years Margie had worked as a secretary for Senator Jacob Javits. Margie went to work for the NYS Division of criminal Justice retiring in 1980. She then went to work for the NYS Department of Probation. Margie was a devout Catholic and would say the novena for two hours daily. She enjoyed watching Yankee baseball, was an avid reader, spending many hours at Barnes and Noble. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren most of all. Margie is predeceased by her husband Gordon Jones, her sister Joan McAuliffe and her son-in-law Rick Gonyea.Margie's family would like to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Villarama, Dr. Fenn, Dr. Kim and the nurses and staff at St. Mary's Hospital.
Margie is survived by her six children, Patricia "Patsy" Stewart and husband Robert of Loudonville, Carol Gonyea of Albany, Maureen Howell and husband Don of Guilderland, Bobby Jones and wife Kathy of Ravena, Kathy Gerard and husband Jeff of Colonie and Mary Ellen Burke and Husband Jim of Guilderland. She is also survived by her three sisters, Betty Gepfert, Jean Weinlein and Nancy Carmello, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Monday at 10:00 AM at Christ the King Church, Sumter Ave., Guilderland. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3:00to 7:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. The Parish family of Christ the King will gather at 4:30 PM on Sunday at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance.
