COLONIE - Margaret L. (Donnelly) Clancy, 83, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Mothers Day, May 13, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late John J. Donnelly and Louise (Perrault) White. Margaret was the devoted wife of John F. Clancy Sr. for nearly 65 years. She was a retired cosmetologist and previous owner/operator of Shear Dimensions Beauty Salon in Albany.
In addition to her husband survivors include four children, John (Andrea) Clancy of W. Bayshore, Karen (Berry) Blot of Colonie, David (Maura) Clancy of Guilderland, and Robert (Lauren) Clancy of No. Greenbush; 8 grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Adam, and David Blot, Molly, Patrick, Caitlin and Sean Clancy; 3 great grand-children, Aidan, Dylan and Mason Blot; her siblings, John J. Donnelly, Alphonse Donnelly, Catherine Eichinger, Patricia Adams, Marion Nolan, Daniel Donnelly and Joseph Donnelly and a host of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Cheryl Lynn.
Margaret especially loved family gatherings at her home or at her brother Dan's pavilion on the Onesquetha Creek, baking "Nanny Banany" bread and spending the winter months in Florida. She loved to travel with her family and close friends Mary and Tony Poutre, having traveled to Europe, South America, Greece and Hawaii.
Special thanks to Dr. Dudek & Dr. Doyle (NYOH) as well as the wonderful staff and caregivers of Teresian House. Her family will be forever grateful.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 Friday, May 18, 2012 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave Ext, Albany, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home on Thursday, May 17, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM.
