Margaret L. Tunkel

Margaret L. Tunkel, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Teresian house. Margaret was born in Glens Falls, to the late Thomas and Margaret (Trombley) Leary. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Glens Falls and then at the College of St. Rose, Albany. Margaret was the Supervisor with the Department of Social Security Administration in Schenectady until her retirement in 1980. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband of over 55 years, Harold whom she loved to travel with and go fishing with. She was also predeceased by her brother, Thomas Leary.
Margaret is survived by her sister, Sr. Mary Ancilla CSJ; her nephew, Thomas (Glenda) Leary; her niece, Irene (Paul) Sylvian and her godson, Douglas Marx.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Mt. Carmel East for all of their care and devotion to Margaret during her residency at the Teresian House.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11am at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 10 to 11am at the Teresian House. Interment will be at St. Mary's cemetery, S. Glens Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in Margaret's memory.
