Schenectady, NY – Margaret Lorraine DeCarter passed away Sunday November 1, 2009 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret "Lorraine" was born in Boston, MA the daughter of the late James and Marion (Marsh) Kilday. She and husband of 58 years, Anthony, moved to the capital district in 1962 and have resided here since. Lorraine worked for the Guilderland High School for over 27 years, where she loved to be close to her daughters while they attended school. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed bowling in area leagues, travel and crafts, but her real passion was her family.
In addition to her devoted husband Anthony, she is survived by her three loving daughters: Karen (Bruce) Agresta, Cheryl DeCarter and Rosemarie (Andy) Hogan, five grandchildren: Tamara DeCarter, Kristina and Nikko Agresta, Matt and Gabrielle Hogan, siblings: Dorothy Powers, Norma Walraven, James Kilday, Robert Kilday, Barbara Anderson and Nancy Lyons and canine companion Dutchess.
The family would like to thank their neighbors, Dr. Goodman and the staff at Ellis Hospital for the care, support and compassion during the last few months.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday 7:00pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 7:00pm Tuesday.
