TROY - Margaret "Peg" M. Dinan, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 15, 2015. Margaret was born on August 29, 1929 in Troy to the late Bernard and Clara Goetz. She graduated from Catholic Central High School. After high school she began her career with the phone company, a job from which she later retired.

Margaret was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Speigle Elders. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going for spontaneous excursions that included hot dogs at Stewart's and hamburgers at Jack's. Margaret prayed her Rosary and Novena's every day.

Margaret was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Edward P. Dinan; her son, Paul C.; her sister, Bernice; and her brother, Robert.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Judy), Timothy (Sue), Mary Dinan-Waugh (Jack), Jude, Martin (Katrina), and Katria Hitrick (Mark); fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; her sister, Barbara (Joseph)Einemann, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy, NY. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY. In keeping with Margaret's wishes there will be no calling hours.
Margaret's family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Samaritan Hospital, The Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, and Aunt Barbara and Cousin Beth for being mom's advocates.

Those wishing to remember Margaret in a special way may make memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to The Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
