ROTTERDAM – Margaret (Peggy) Lawyer, 69, of Rotterdam, passed away on Saturday July 31, 2010 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Ira and Margaret Alger.
Peggy was retired from the Guilderland High School kitchen where the students kept her young. She was a lover of life and always there if you needed her. She enjoyed reading and doing crafts. Peggy was upbeat and pleasant to be with. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is the beloved wife of Clinton (John) Lawyer and the treasured Mother of Kelly (William) Wager. She is the sister of Daniel Alger. Peggy is also survived by her mother in law and 4 wonderful sister in laws. She is the dear friend of Dorothy Deleskiewicz, Roslind Rathke and Tracie Craig. She loved her dogs, Chiefy and Tiki and her grand dogs Sammie and Marshall.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave. Scotia, NY 12302.
