Guilderland - Margaret "Dolly" Martori, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Born in Brooklyn on June 4, 1933, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy (Angello) Oddo.
Margaret married her loving husband, Frank "Sonny" Martori in 1954; it was a loving union of 46 years until his passing in 2000. In the mid to late 1970's, Sonny and Dolly owned and operated Gran Torino Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY for several years before relocating to Guilderland, upon which they opened and operated Oceans Eleven Restaurant for many years. After closing the restaurant Margaret began a 17 year career with JCPenney. Margaret had a collection of elephants and she loved to cook, in which her "world famous" seafood salad will certainly be missed on Christmas Eve's to come.
Besides her husband, Margaret will be reunited with her son, Frank A. Martori Jr.; brother, Rocco Oddo; sister, Marie Russo and her poodle, Buddy. She is survived by her loving daughter Nancy Martori-Cole (Bob); beloved granddaughter, Lauren Ann Stennie; brother, Thomas Oddo (Millie); step-grandchildren, Jeff Cole (Cassie) and Jen Cole (Mark); many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Margaret will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 5pm until 7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, 12205. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Schenectady, 12303.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice; 445 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205.
