Margaret Murphy

SARATOGA- Margaret Mary (Meg) Murphy passed from this life on April 4th 2011. Meg was a graduate of Kenwood Academy of the Sacred Heart and College of St. Rose in Albany, NY and a lifelong resident of the Capital District area. Meg is the daughter of James F. Murphy and stepdaughter of Barbara J. Murphy. Meg is predeceased by her mother Sheila Igoe Murphy and brother QM-2 James E. Murphy, US Navy. Meg is survived by her sisters Maura (William)Edwards of Madison, Alabama and Monica (Edward)Farrell of Guilderland NY, and was the devoted aunt of Jim and Andrew Sweeney and Julianna, Katie, and Billy Edwards, Jr. Meg graced this life for 56 years, loving her family, cats, and nature. The family wishes to convey their deepest appreciation to the staff of the Albany Medical Center's Critical Care Unit for their outstanding care to Meg. In addition we wish to thank the care of the Police and Fire Dept. of Saratoga Springs, and Saratoga Hospital. Meg also had great admiration for her friends at Franklin Community Center, Allison, and Carol.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 6 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. Memorial contributions may be made to Franklin Community Center, 10 Franklin Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
