Margaret O. Murphy

GUILDERLAND – Margaret O. Murphy, 87, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Jeanette (Karius) Owens and wife of the late John T. Murphy.
A 1943 graduate of St. Anne's Academy in Albany's South End, she was a clerk for NY Telephone for 39 years before retiring in 1985. She was a member of Timeless Tappers and the Telephone Pioneers.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughter, Kathleen M. (COL-R Jack) Clark; her loving grandchildren, LTC Todd J. (Shelley) Clark, currently serving in Afghanistan and Kyle E. Clark; her cherished great grandchildren, Collin T. and Madison E. Clark; her sister, Jeanne (Edward) Casserly; her special cousin, Patricia (Robert) Synfelt and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Fatima Unit at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center for their loving and compassionate care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Schenectady. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project c/o Hibernian Hall, 375 Ontario St., Albany, NY 12208 in memory of Margaret O. Murphy.
