Margaret R. Williams

NISKAYUNA – Margaret R. Williams, 72, of Niskayuna, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on December 3, 2008. Born in Astoria, NY, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice Harrison. She was a lifelong Capital District resident. Margie was employed at Shaker Equipment Rentals for 20 years, and previously worked as an advertising rep. with the Altamont Enterprise. She also worked for Phoebe's Florist and was a teacher's aide at Guilderland Elementary School. Margie was a member of the Dept. 56 Club and enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She especially enjoyed making and collecting miniature doll houses. Margie is the devoted and beloved mother of Robert (Priscilla) Williams of Martha's Vineyard, MA, JoAnn (the late Greg Thomson) Williams of Niskayuna and Susan (Jason) Williams-Germain of Niskayuna. She is the loving sister of Alice (Bill) Tochterman of Rosendale, NY and Betty (Bernard) Pietromonoco of Astoria, NY. She is the cherished grandmother of Stuart Darrah and Allison Derrusha. Margie is the former wife of George Williams of Slingerlands. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and many other branches on her loving family tree, especially Laurie, Donna, Todd and his family and Lauren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning at 8:30 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 40 Hopewell St., Albany. Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of Margaret R. Williams.
