Webster, NY: Formerly of Slingerlands, NY peacefully passed away at home on December 26, 2008
Predeceased by her loving husband, Albert Ristau, son James E. O'Connell, sisters, Eileen Nally, Virginia Lawler, brother Neil Dwyer.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Laurie O'Connell, Webster, NY and Linda Marie Sacks, Ormond Beach, FL, son Dan (Laurie) O'Connell, Pittsburgh PA and Peter Bakal, an adopted son of Slingerlands, NY 4 grandchildren, Caitlin (O'Connell) Sanders, Rebecca Sacks, Samantha Sacks, Rachelle O'Connell and sister Janet Dwyer, Slingerlands NY, and brother-in-law Daniel Lawler, Glens Falls NY and many wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as many supportive friends and neighbors.
Margaret was a beloved mother and grandmother. She worked with Dr. Milford Becker at his Veterinary practice many years ago. She loved working with all of the Bethlehem Police Reserve officers. "Margie" loved traveling, playing scrabble with Laurie, and always lending a helping hand to those around her. She was a friend to all, "mother" to many and the most generous and loving person there is. She will be greatly missed by many, If you have a special photo, please bring to share on our memory boards.
A Celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Tuesday December 30, 2008 1:00pm at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory's Garden Cemetery. A gathering will follow after the burial, and will be announced at the service.
