Margaret A. Rotondaro

Colonie - Margaret Angilletta Rotondaro ,95, passed away on September 17th, 2024. Margaret was born on May 28th, 1929, in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Carmel and Mary Simpson Angilletta. 

She married Richard Rotondaro and settled in Colonie, NY where she raised her three sons. Margaret was a homemaker while her sons were young and then went on to work for the NYS Tax department retiring in 1990. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, baking and sewing. Her Italian food was legendary as were her Christmas cookie trays she so beautifully decorated every year. Margaret and Richard loved listening to classical music and enjoyed traveling the East Coast.

Margaret is predeceased by her husband Richard, her brothers John, Joe, Jim, Frank and Dom and sister Theresa as well as several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sons Edwin (Claire) of Clifton Park and their children Joseph and Daniel; Tom (Marisa) of Colonie and their children Anthony and Angelia; John (Laurie) of Colonie and their children Katelyn (Randall) and Jacqueline (Devin). She is also survived by her great granddaughters Evelyn and Isla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Chinessa and Tamiko who provided many years of compassionate care while mom was at home and further thanks to the staff of unit 2A of the Teresian House who cared for mom over the past year and a half. 

Calling hours for friends and relatives will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 9am-10:30am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
