Margaret Schweder

Margaret Schweder passed away peacefully at the Eddy Nursing Home on December 9 at the age of 89. Margaret was born in the Bronx, NY on July 8, 1931 and married the love of her life Fred on October 14, 1950. They were blessed with two loving children. They moved to Yonkers and then Malta, NY in 1976 where they lived many cherished years until Fred's death in 1985.

Margaret's Bronx accent, beautiful blue eyes and perpetual smile stayed with her throughout her entire life, Known for her love of everyone she met, they loved her in return. Later in life she wrote and memorized poems about friends and her favorite Yankees (when the Mets weren't on) that were so funny and entertaining as she recited them with her beautiful smile.

Margaret is survived by her loving son Tom and his wife Sue Thompson and grandson Eric (Madalynne Klebieko), her best friend and daughter Peggy, her cat Mittens, Don Marr and his parents Pat and Don Marr who she adored.

Viewing will be on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 8:45am-9:15am at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road Watervliet NY followed by a mass at Our Lady of Victory, Troy NY at 10am. Gathering size within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels as well as the church.
