Colonie - Margaret L. Silverman, 82, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Born at Ellis Hospital on May 22, 1941 to Chester and Margaret Esther Wickham, Margaret grew up with many aunts and uncles by her side.
Margaret graduated in 1959 from Colonie Central High School. From there, she went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from SUNY Potsdam in 1963.
Margaret was a dedicated educator for the South Colonie School District for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, and above all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Through the years, she volunteered her time with the Ladies Auxiliary at Stanford Heights Fire Department and the South Colonie PTA. Most recently, she was fond of going on outings, playing BINGO and making art with her Kingsway friends.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Lewis Silverman. They are now reunited and with no doubt, reminiscing about all the home projects they completed together and RV trips they took with their children.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Silverman Neagle (Michael); son, William Silverman (Ericka); grandchildren, Lucas, Noah, Olivia, Ethan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home, where she resided. While there, she was actively involved in the community. She cherished the staff and fellow residents deeply. The love and care bestowed upon Margaret during her stay, will never be forgotten.
